MFS log is used to evaluate movable hydrocarbons and to correct apparent resistivity (from DLS or DIS).MFS is a pad-type focused resistivity device. It essentially measures the flush zone resistivity Rxo. The center electrode sends out the survey current. The symmetrically arranged guard electrodes around the center electrode dynamically focus the survey current into the flushed zone of the formation. The investigation depth of MFS is only a few inches. MFS has very high vertical resolution.
