|
DLS is a focused electrode system for measuring formation resistivity. The deep resistivity LLD measurement and the shallow resistivity LLS measurement are performed simultaneously. The center electrode sends out the survey current. The symmetrically arranged guard electrodes above and bellow the center electrode dynamically focus the survey current into the formation. The measured LLD is mainly related to the resistivity in undisturbed zone of the formation; while the measured LLS is mainly related to the resistivity in the invaded zone of the formation. Dual Lateral log is one of the most important logging data for oil saturation evaluation and oil/water zone identification.
